Precise molecular sieving architectures with Janus superhighways are constructed via a molecularly engineered interfacial reaction between cyclodextrin (CD) and trimesoyl chloride (TMC). Interestingly, the CD/TMC nanofilms constructed with both hydrophobic inner cavities and hydrophilic channels exhibit exceptionally high permeances for both polar and nonpolar solvents. The precise molecular sieving functions are determined by the type of CD building blocks and the inner cavities of intrinsic 3D hollow bowls. Positron annihilation spectroscopy (PAS) confirms that a larger inner CD cavity tends to generate a larger free volume and higher microporosity. Based on the rejection ratio of various dyes, the estimated molecular weight cutoff of CD/TMC nanofilms follows the trend of α‐CD/TMC (320 Da) <β‐CD/TMC (400 Da) <γ‐CD/TMC (550 Da), which is in strict accordance with the orders of their free volumes measured by PAS and inner cavity sizes of α‐CD <β‐CD <γ‐CD. This kind of novel CD/TMC molecular sieving membrane with intrinsic microporosity containing tunable pore size and sharp pore‐size distribution can effectively discriminate molecules with different 3D sizes. 相似文献

Viscoelastic properties of two nontraditional hydrocolloid dispersions were evaluated. Prosopis chilensis seed gum was evaluated based on temperature (5–80 °C) and added CaCl2 (0.07%), whereas nopal mucilage was evaluated based on temperature (5–80 °C) and sucrose concentration (0–20%). Viscoelasticity was tested by the small strain oscillatory shear test; storage modulus (G′), loss modulus (G″) and tan δ were reported. Prosopis chilensis and nopal dispersions behaved as weak gels (G’ > G’’) regardless of experimental condition. Raising temperature from 20 to 80 °C significantly increased G’. The gel structure was strengthened by adding CaCl2 and G’ increased at 40 °C. The sucrose effect depended on concentration and temperature; at low sucrose concentrations, G’ modulus increased regardless of temperature level, but at high concentrations, it decreased at temperatures >40 °C. In conclusion, nopal and Prosopis chilensis dispersions show weak gel structure regardless of experimental condition. G′ increases as temperature increases, and these dispersions could be suitable for food applications requiring heat tolerance. 相似文献

Outcome‐based ventilation: A framework for assessing performance,health, and energy impacts to inform office building ventilation decisions 下载免费PDF全文
This article presents an outcome‐based ventilation (OBV) framework, which combines competing ventilation impacts into a monetized loss function ($/occ/h) used to inform ventilation rate decisions. The OBV framework, developed for U.S. offices, considers six outcomes of increasing ventilation: profitable outcomes realized from improvements in occupant work performance and sick leave absenteeism; health outcomes from occupant exposure to outdoor fine particles and ozone; and energy outcomes from electricity and natural gas usage. We used the literature to set low, medium, and high reference values for OBV loss function parameters, and evaluated the framework and outcome‐based ventilation rates using a simulated U.S. office stock dataset and a case study in New York City. With parameters for all outcomes set at medium values derived from literature‐based central estimates, higher ventilation rates’ profitable benefits dominated negative health and energy impacts, and the OBV framework suggested ventilation should be ≥45 L/s/occ, much higher than the baseline ~8.5 L/s/occ rate prescribed by ASHRAE 62.1. Only when combining very low parameter estimates for profitable impacts with very high ones for health and energy impacts were all outcomes on the same order. Although yoghurt butter oil as a fermented dairy product is widely consumed in several countries, its metabolic effects have not been fully elucidated. In this study, male Wistar rats were treated with standard diet, standard diet enriched with 10% or 20% (W/W) of either cow yoghurt butter oil (CYBO), sheep yoghurt butter oil (SYBO) or cottonseed oil (COT) for 20 weeks. Treatment of rats with CYBO or SYBO (at both concentrations) did not significantly influence haematological parameters, plasma lipids and liver histological structure. However, in contrast to popular belief, COT treatment at the higher dose induced leukocytosis, dyslipidaemia and liver steatosis. 相似文献

A low‐powered and highly selective photomechanical sensor system mimicking stomata in the epidermis of leaves harvested from nature is demonstrated. This device uses a light‐responsive composite consisting of 4‐amino‐1,1′‐azobenzene‐3,4′‐disulfonic acid monosodium salt (AZO) and poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA) coated on a membrane with tens of nanometer‐size pores. The ionic current change through the pore channels as a function of pore size variation is then measured. The tran–cis isomerism of AZO–PDDA during light irradiation and the operation mechanism of photomechanical ion channel sensor are discussed and analyzed using UV–vis spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy analysis. It presents the discriminative current levels to the different light wavelengths. The response time of the photoreceptor is about 0.2 s and it consumes very low operating power (≈15 nW) at 0.1 V bias. In addition, it is found that the change of the pore diameter during the light irradiation is due to the photomechanical effect, which is capable of distinguishing light intensity and wavelength. 相似文献

The combined effect of particulate fouling and magnetic field on the efficiency of a convective–radiative porous fin heatsink with temperature‐dependent thermal conductivity is presented. The developed thermal models are solved using differential transformation method. The effects of thermal conductivity, porosity, convection, radiation parameter, and thermal fouling number on the fin thermal efficiency are investigated. The presence of thermal fouling on the surface of the fin is shown to increase the temperature distribution. The presence of particle deposition on the fin surface significantly decreases the rate of heat transfer as additional thermal resistance of the fouling layer decreases the thermal performance of porous fin heatsink. Moreover, the fin efficiency decreases as the value of fouled Biot, Darcy, radiation number, and thermogeometric parameter increases. It is established that Mf < Mc, which indicates that the efficiency of the fouled fin is greater than the efficiency of the clean fin. Furthermore, the result of the present study is validated with the established results of Chebyshev spectral collocation method and fourth‐order Runge–Kutta with shooting method and an error margin of 0.000000023 is established. 相似文献
